About
Clemson University’s Nieri Department of Construction and Real Estate Development is one of the nation’s top ten construction education programs. Its accredited undergraduate and graduate programs attract quality students from throughout the world. The program graduates hold leadership positions in the major sectors of the construction industry in the United States and overseas. In addition, the students within the department are fully engaged in their educational activities both within and outside the formal classroom environment. To help ensure the continuing quality of education the students receive, to provide professional development opportunities for faculty, and to enhance the Department’s continuous collaboration with the construction industry, the Corporate Partner Program was developed.

Our Mission
The mission of the Corporate Partner Program is two-fold. First, to support professionally-related activities of the students and faculty in the Department and those of its Center for the Improvement of Construction Management and Processes (CICMP). In terms of professional student and faculty activities, these include field trips to project sites, participation in local, regional, and national construction association competitions, and faculty professional development. In addition, support from the Corporate Partners provides seed money for applied research and professional development projects for the benefit of the Corporate Partners conducted through the CICMP.
The second part of the mission is to conduct applied research and professional development activities pertaining to proven “Best Practices” that will result in more effective and efficient construction. The CICMP houses all of the research and professional development conducted by the Department along with working with the construction industry on various initiatives. Recent applied research has resulted in the publication of a series of Construction Best Practice Guides.
