Dr. Grau specializes in ethics, topics in metaphysics, and philosophical work on film. He has published articles in variety of journals including Film-Philosophy, the Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism, the Journal of Moral Philosophy, Midwest Studies in Philosophy, Philosophical Topics, The Review of Philosophy and Psychology, and The Southern Journal of Philosophy. (Penultimate drafts of most papers are available online at the philpapers link above.) He is also the editor of three books on philosophy and film. The most recent, Understanding Love: Philosophy, Film, and Fiction, is co-edited with Susan Wolf and published by Oxford University Press. In addition, he is the co-editor (with Aaron Smuts) of The Oxford Handbook of The Philosophy of Love.
Prior to coming to Clemson, Chris was Visiting Assistant Professor at UNC – Chapel Hill and Assistant Professor at Florida International University in Miami. He has also taught at Brooklyn College, Dartmouth College, Johns Hopkins University, and University of Maryland (Baltimore County).
