Rachelle L. Beckner is a Lecturer in Professional Communication and Information Design at Clemson University, where she teaches courses in business, technical, and science communication. With a background in journalism and an Executive MBA from West Virginia University, she specializes in bridging communication and technical disciplines, helping students and professionals enhance their writing, public speaking, and leadership skills. Her teaching portfolio includes courses in civil engineering, business communication, and interdisciplinary studies, with a focus on integrating AI tools to support communication development. She has presented at national and regional conferences, including the RED Consortium and the Clemson Civil Engineering Education Summit, on topics such as AI-driven communication assessment, discipline-specific writing, and experiential learning in engineering education. In addition to her academic role, Beckner has extensive industry experience in development, marketing, and nonprofit leadership, where she honed her expertise in persuasive communication, stakeholder engagement, and strategic messaging.
