Zaina is a first year MA student and teaching assistant who received her bachelors degree from Clemson University, Class of 22. She is interested in studying concepts of patriotism and masculinity in the military specifically as it pertains to the American South. Her current research is examining how rural Southern areas were impacted by the shift in military tradition between the end of the Civil War and the start of World War I.
