The Women's Leadership program provides two minors, both of which are curated to compliment any undergraduate degree program.
Minor in Women's Leadership
A minor in Women’s Leadership requires 18 credits, distributed as follows:
- WS 1030
- WS 2300
- WS 3900 or WS 4010
- Nine additional credits from the list of approved Major Elective Courses
Minor in Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies
The field of Gender, Sexuality, & Women's Studies focuses on the role of women in all facets of human endeavor. This multi-disciplinary field examines women's lives and accomplishments in the context of history, sociology, psychology, medicine, economics, law, and politics and highlights women's creativity in art, music, and literature.
Students who choose a minor in Gender, Sexuality, & Women's Studies are taught to ask critical questions about the portrayal of women in the media, to think analytically about women's place in American politics, to see connections across diverse cultures, and to communicate their discoveries to others. A minor in Women's Studies will allow you to enhance your analytical skills and give you a broad understanding of women's contributions in the humanities and the social sciences.
A minor in Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies requires 18 credits with no more than 3 credits at the 1000 level, distributed as follows
- Nine credits from any course with Core Courses designation.
- Nine credits from any course with Major Elective Courses designation.
