There is a need for a device to effectively reduce adhesion formation in women who receive cesarean sections.
Hesioblock is a novel syringe accessory for applying a thermoresponsive polymer barrier to prevent intra-abdominal adhesions resulting from cesarean sections. Key features of the device include: (1) a standard leur-lock connection mechanism for easy assembly, (2) a five-centimeter-wide application area for full incision coverage, and (3) an angled flow profile for improved flow mechanics. Hesioblock allows for an even, consistent application of a polymer barrier that prevents uterine tissue from adhering to surrounding organs. Though the device’s intended use is for applying gynecological adhesion barriers, its versatile and simple design allow it to be used in a wide range of applications in the healthcare industry and beyond.
