Amanda Fowler

Senior Engineering Manager, GE

Biography

Amanda Fowler is an Engineering Manager for the Edison Engineering Development Program as well as the Advance Courses for Engineering, GE's world class technical education program for engineers globally.  She is responsible for talent development, strategic planning and competency modeling of engineering talent to align with business needs. She embraces a culture of self-driven learning to allow for adaptive technology initiatives focused on business demand for engineering talent.

 Amanda began her GE career in 2005 as a Product Quality Engineer in Combustion Manufacturing.   She has since held multiple roles in increasing leadership responsibilities which have included Operations Leader, Distribution Center Leader, and Repair Service Center Manager.

Before joining her current role, in the Technical Learning Office, Amanda was a member of the Greenville Gas Turbine manufacturing Staff as the Manager responsible for leading teams in execution and fulfillment  in Combustion Manufacturing and component Repair facility.  She led the largest repair organization in North America that had operations to include advanced fabrication, machining, thermal barrier coating, heat treatment, and Non-Destructive Testing of combustion and hot gas path capital parts. Amanda provided leadership to teams driving operational excellence in areas of EHS, quality, product cost, and fulfillment of new units, aftermarket spares, and customer component repairs.

 Amanda is a Clemson Alumni. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science.

In her spare time, she enjoys being on any beach, Clemson Football and spending time with her husband and her two kids who are currently in college at Furman and Lenoir-Rhyne.
