HAYLEY LIGHTSEY

Hayley is a sophomore from Greenville, South Carolina. As a student at Clemson in the Honors College, she achieved academic excellence and has been repeatedly recognized on the President’s list. Hayley is currently serving as a Finance Specialist in Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. She is also involved with Clemson Wesley and FCA. Hayley is interested in applications of IE in the areas of technology and consulting. This upcoming summer, she will be interning in Atlanta at Manhattan Associates with the Professional Services Operations group.

OWEN DAUGHERTY

Owen is a junior honors student from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Through Clemson’s Industrial Engineering program, he has co-oped with Advoco, Part of Accenture, and is the Treasurer for the Alpha Pi Mu Honors Society. He will also be attending the IE Department’s Study Abroad trip to France this summer. Outside of industrial engineering, he also participated in LEAD Forward, a CI focused on developing young leaders in Clemson engineers.

REED HOWELL

Reed is a senior from Greer, South Carolina, and will be graduating with general honors. While studying at Clemson, he has achieved academic excellence and been recognized on the President’s list every semester. He is a member of Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, as well as Alpha Pi Mu Honor Society. Reed has also participated in research through the Watson in the Watt program, studying artificial intelligence and it’s impacts on various research projects. Reed has accepted a position as the Lean Transformation Leader with GE Aviation in McAllen, Texas, as a part of their Operations Management Leadership Program.

JOSHUA COLEMAN

Joshua is a junior from Irmo, South Carolina. He is a part of the Honors College and is involved with the ClemsonLIFE program, Clemson Undergraduate Student Government, and Alpha Pi Mu, and is an Industrial Engineering Ambassador. He also is an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for freshman level engineering courses. Joshua worked as a quality engineer intern at Sleep Number last summer and will return to Sleep Number this summer in a continuous improvement role.

SYDNEY WILSON

Sydney is a graduating senior with a minor in Business Administration. While at Clemson, she had the opportunity to participate in undergraduate research, study abroad, and complete four co-op rotations. An active member of IISE since her freshman year, she has served as Treasurer, Conference Director, and currently as President. As President, she has worked to bring back notable speakers and events from pre-pandemic and reengage the IE student body to help them grow professionally. After graduation, Sydney is extremely excited to be returning to her co-op company in a full-time position in Charlotte, NC.

ELIZA MACAULAY

Eliza is a junior Industrial Engineering student. She is involved in Alpha Pi Mu, IISE, and the Industrial Engineering Undergraduate Student Advisory Board. She is currently performing undergraduate research with the objective to identify the different factors that are statistically significant to the prevalence of youth trading sex. She recently placed first in the IISE Technical Paper Competition for the Mid-Atlantic Region with this research. Eliza would like to thank Dr. Thomas Sharkey for allowing her the opportunity to perform this research.

LAUREN WILLOUGHBY

Lauren is a Senior IE from Greenville, SC, and is actually the daughter of two of our own Clemson IE alums. In her 4 years at Clemson, she has achieved academic excellence and has repeatedly been recognized for this on the President's list and through academic achievement awards. She stays engaged with the Clemson community through her leadership positions in Greek life, in the IE department, and most recently as the President of Alpha Pi Mu. This summer she will be completing her 3rd Co-Op rotation as a Manufacturing Logistics Engineer at Bosch, with plans to graduate this Fall.

KATELYN EPPINGER

Katelyn is a third-year honors student from Everett, Pennsylvania. She has been consistently recognized on the President’s List, maintaining a 4.0 GPA every semester since she enrolled in Fall 2019. She has served as a Resident Assistant and Class Grader, and maintains a lead role as a competitive College Disc Golf athlete. This June, Katelyn will be returning for a second summer internship with Verizon. When she returns to Clemson for her final year, she will successfully complete Clemson’s 5-year BS/MS program in only 4 years: Graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in December 2022 and her Masters in May 2023.

Martha Lucia Sabogal De La Pava

Martha is a second-year Ph.D. student in operations research. She has had an outstanding academic performance. She participated as an invited Panelist in two panels discussions about Ph.D. student life, one at INFORMS 2021 and Clemson IE Panel 2022. She was a co-author in two conferences, Decision Sciences Institute Annual Conference and INFORMS 2021. She participated in the Grad Writing Across the Curriculum Fellowship program. She is working with Dr. Tucker on stochastic optimization models to study disruptions in pharmaceutical supply chains and how they impact low and middle-income countries. Prior to Clemson, she earned her .Sc. and B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Universidad del Valle in Colombia.

VISHNU PRABHU

Vishnu Prabhu is a Ph.D. candidate in the department. His research interests focus on utilizing data-driven modeling approaches to improve healthcare operations. His current research work focuses on improving patient flow, patient safety, and patient care access in emergency departments. Vishnu is also passionate about utilizing new technologies, IoT devices, and non-pharmacological techniques to address pain, anxiety, and mental health issues. He has conducted multiple randomized clinical trials collaborating with medical providers to test the efficacy of digital health technologies to improve quality of life and wellbeing.

CHELSEA SPENCE

Chelsea is a graduate IE student working under Dr.Mary Beth Kurz. She has been a teaching assistant for IE 2100 and IE 3860 and has taught IE 3840. At the end of the semester, she will have completed Clemson’s Certificate in Engineering and Science Education. This summer, she will be participating in the NIH-funded T35 Research Traineeship Program.

MACKENZIE GRUMBLES

Mackenzie is a graduate student from Franklin, TN. In her four years at Clemson, she completed her Bachelor's in IE and will complete her Master's next month. Through these four years of both undergrad and graduate work, Mackenzie has maintained a 4.0 GPA. All of her hard work and determination at Clemson led her to a scholarship and job opportunity with the Department of Defense working on an air force base in Florida after graduation.

DI NGUYEN

Di Nguyen received her bachelor’s degree from Clemson University in 2017 and is completing her doctoral degree under the supervision of Dr. Cole Smith and Dr. Yongjia Song. Her research focuses on network interdiction problems. She is a recipient of INFORMS Analytics Society’s Women in Operations Research - Bayer Scholarship and CECAS' Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant Award. She served as President of the INFORMS Student Chapter at Clemson, and is currently the Secretary of the Forum for Women in Operations Research and the Management Sciences. Di has accepted a position at the University College Dublin as an Assistant Professor.

EMMA SIMON

Emma is a junior from Boalsburg, Pennsylvania. At Clemson, she has researched the fuel consumption and time efficiency of harvesting equipment and worked with the energy and resource audits group. She is actively involved in the Honors College where she is a Dixon Global Policy Scholar. She has also been involved as an Honors Student Leader, a Dixon Fellow, and a Eureka participant and counselor. Emma interned for Minvero, a sustainability consulting company in London, and Hubbell, a lighting manufacturing company. This summer, she will be working for Tesla as a Process Engineering Intern.
