Matthew Wells

Lyceum Visiting Scholar, Lyceum Program, Clemson Institute for the Study of Capitalism

Matthew Wells, Ph.D., is a Lyceum Visiting Scholar. Before coming to Clemson, he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Political Science at Emory University and an affiliate instructor in the Department of Politics at the University of Dallas. He earned his Ph.D. and M.A. in political science from Baylor University and his B.A. in philosophy, religious studies and French from Central College.

His research focuses on classical political philosophy, and he is currently interested in understanding Aristotelian science and logic with an eye toward their relationship to political philosophy and their place in the good life.
