Colin D. Pearce, Ph.D., is a retired Lyceum Professor and senior visiting scholar for the SISC. Before joining the SISC, he taught at the University of South Carolina Beaufort and the University of Guelph-Humber. Pearce previously served as a Fellow at the Schusterman Center for Israel Studies at Brandeis University, an Affiliated Professor at the University of Haifa, and President of the South Carolina Political Science Association. He holds a B.A. in History from the University of Queensland and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Toronto.

In addition to political philosophy, Pearce's research interests include philosophy and literature, American political thought, security studies, and Canadian politics. His articles and reviews have appeared in a wide variety of journals, including Perspectives on Politics, Interpretation, the Canadian Journal of Political Science, Mississippi Quarterly, and Voegelin View and cover a range of subjects from the ontology of D.H. Lawrence to Aristotle's economics to the political philosophy of Leo Strauss. Pearce's published papers can be found on Academia.edu and SSRN.
