Elemental Analysis using XRF of Spanish Colonial Currency

In 2021, Heathley Johnson from the South Carolina Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology worked with Lisa Arslaner, a Conservation Scientist at the Warren Lasch Conservation Center, to analyze artifacts called Plata corriente from Santa Elena. Lisa carried out XRF analysis showing variation in the metallic composition of the plata corriente.
