Without Ty Thornhill, there would likely be no Erwin Center. Joining Erwin Penland as an Account Manager straight out of Clemson, Thornhill thrived in the fast-paced, demanding environment, supporting brands including First Union, Wachovia, Michelin, Uniroyal, GM and BI-LO. Teaching at Clemson, Thornhill recognized the possibilities for a brand communications program and with Joe Erwin, developed the idea that became The Erwin Center. In 2016, Thornhill was recruited to join The Tombras Group - AdAge's 2015 Small Agency of the Year - where he led accounts for various national brands. Working in the industry, Thornhill takes his passions and produces results through his work and success as a senior ad agency leader. His lasting positive and lasting impact on Clemson and the Erwin Center's students cannot be overstated.
