Shane Hutchings has 20 years of experience in the maintenance and operations of facilities, with 15 years of experience managing and maintaining academic research and teaching labs. For the past few years, Shane has been responsible for managing and maintaining the Advanced Print Technology lab with the Sonoco Institute. Previous to working with the Sonoco Institute, he was employed with the Packaging Science Department at Clemson University as their Lab Specialist with primary responsibility for the design, installation, maintenance, calibration and records management for over 200 pieces of equipment in three labs, including the Packaging Testing Laboratory.

Before Clemson University, Hutchings was employed as an electrician with the National Aeronautical and Space Administration out of Cape Canaveral, FL. He holds a certification as a Master Electrician and certifications as a FIRST Operator I and FIRST Operator II from the Flexographical Technical Association.
