About This Program /

Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management

Students select from one of two concentration areas: 1) parks, recreation and tourism with an emphasis area in sport and recreation management; parks, conservation and outdoor recreation; or tourism and event management or 2) recreational therapy.

At the start of the program, you will participate in the semester-long EDGE program with a cohort of PRTM majors and dedicated, passionate professors organizing events, meeting area professionals, learning to communicate professionally, and collaborating on real-world business and management plans.

Our students will apply their foundation of learning and build valuable industry connections through required practicums and internships.

Our graduates work in various sectors, such as municipalities, visitor and convention bureaus, state and national parks, hospitals, event planning companies, and youth sports.
