Description
The Organization of Academic Department Chairs (OADC) focuses on organizational and institutional matters supporting the success of academic department chairs and school directors as they perform their leadership responsibilities and grow as academic leaders. OADC assembles through the Annual Academic Leaders Retreat each August and through monthly (minimum) regular OADC meetings throughout the academic year. The Annual retreat focusing on the decision-making authority and strategic priorities alignment of department chairs and school directors is coordinated and operated by the Faculty Affairs Team. The regular OADC meetings center on timely informational and operational updates and communications and agendas are developed and coordinated by the Senior Associate Provost and the Faculty Affairs Team in consultation with one department chair or school director selected to run the regular OADC meetings. Each regular OADC meeting includes time before and after the meeting to meet with the faculty affairs team and holds space for all OADC members to connect. This committee is authorized by the Clemson University Committee on Committees. Changes to the OADC’s description or means of composing the committee membership should be initiated with the Faculty Senate Office.
