Ensuring Access

Participation in the Honors College and some of its programs require a supplemental fee, yet we are dedicated to ensuring access for qualified students. The Opportunity Scholarship helps cover the Honors College fee and other expenses for underrepresented students with financial need and helps recruit those students to the College. The Assistance Fund provides financial aid to students with financial need who want to participate in special Honors College programs that often require funding for international or domestic travel.

Intellectual Engagement and Service

Much of the Honors College experience occurs outside the typical academic offerings. The Engagement Fund provides critical resources to fund special-topic speakers, panel participation, research grants, and summer internship stipends—all part of the quintessential Honors College experience. The Honors College also encourages students to pursue service-learning opportunities as part of their personal and professional development. Funding for this initiative through the Service Fund helps students engage with the Clemson community and beyond.

The National Scholars Program

The National Scholars Program, started in 2000, is Clemson’s top merit-based scholarship program. National Scholars undergo a rigorous application process and receive a full cost-of-attendance scholarship, exclusive experiential learning opportunities, intensive advising and mentoring, and focused personal, academic, and professional development resources. The Program fosters a supportive and engaged community of scholar-leaders who routinely receive the Norris Medal, nationally competitive fellowships and scholarships, and acceptance into elite graduate and professional degree programs across the United States. The NSP Excellence Fund and NSP Endowment both provide unrestricted program support often used for cohort-building and leadership development activities, travel expenses, service projects, and recruitment of entering students.
