How their research is transforming health care

My research is focused on medical education and pedagogy specifically working to advance our delivery of educational models to improve our learners’ knowledge, clinical reasoning and leadership to better patient experience and outcomes. My current projects focus on learners’ experience of micro aggression in the clinical environment, providing bystander scripting for intervening in microaggressions, intervening in microaggression impact on burn-out, using technology to improve education programming and delivery of content (AR/VR, 3D printing, gamification, multimedia slide design, learning content management systems, flipped classrooms), small group teaching methods to improve clinical reasoning, and coaching of leadership qualities. My research is important to improve the quality of medical education, promote evidence-based practice, advance the discipline of medical education, and prepare healthcare learners for the challenges of the future healthcare delivery.
