Dr. Hudson Smith is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at Clemson University and Co-Lead of the Clemson/MUSC Artificial Intelligence Hub. His research focuses on developing machine learning techniques for healthcare applications, with particular emphasis on medical imaging. Dr. Smith has established significant research partnerships with Prisma Health and MUSC, leading to progress in automated quality assessment of medical imaging and diagnostic tools. His work includes developing AI-based quality assessment tools for focused abdominal sonography for trauma (FAST) examinations and automated identification of patent ductus arteriosus using computer vision models.
