How their research is transforming health care
Luo’s research advances understanding of how socioeconomic status, life transitions (e.g., marriage, divorce, retirement, grandparenting, changing living arrangement), and life events (e.g., elder abuse, social isolation and loneliness, discrimination) affect health and well-being over the life course. She then strives to determine how social services and social support at the individual, family, community, and societal levels modify these relationships.
