About

Veronica Parker is an Alumni Distinguished Professor at Clemson University (CU), and Director of the Center for Research on Health Disparities. She is a current member of the Advisory Committee on Minority Health, DHHS, Office of Minority Health. She earned a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the Medical University of South Carolina, BS in Engineering Analysis (concentration in Bioengineering) from CU, and BS in Physics-Engineering from the College of Charleston.

How their research is transforming health care

Parker has secured over $11 million in collaborative internal and external research funding from agencies such as the NIH, SAMHSA, and HRSA as well as collaborative projects funded through PRISMA. She has expertise in minority health, biostatistics, and health risk behaviors. Her current research focus is on understanding factors that contribute to resiliency, eustress, and quality of life and well-being through equity-minded interventions with especial focus on rural, Appalachian, vulnerable, diverse and underserved communities.
