Hamed Rahimian is an Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering in the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences. He obtained his Ph.D. in Operations Research from The Ohio State University. His research is focused on modeling decision-making problems in healthcare, among others. Hamed’s work uses various models and tools in operations research to address challenging healthcare problems.

How their research is transforming health care

Rahimian develops models and tools to facilitate better decision making for challenging healthcare problems. His research aids healthcare decision-making at both public and individualized level by predicting the impact of various policies and treatment regimens. These decisions may arise in modeling and control of infectious diseases and allocating scarce healthcare resources. Hamed’s research helps policy makers to make intelligent and data-informed decisions in the presence of incomplete information in complex settings.
