About Us
The Office of Animal Resources (OAR) strives to promote excellence in animal research and teaching programs at Clemson University while maintaining the highest standards in the ethical and responsible treatment of animals. OAR provides veterinary and technical support, technologically advanced equipment, and training/education to support animal research and teaching activities throughout the campus.
OAR’s goals are to enhance the Clemson animal research programs by providing:
- comprehensive support of internally and externally funded animal research and teaching programs
- excellent facilities and a variety of professional and technical services
- education and training in animal research techniques for investigative staff, students, and various health professionals
- management or supervision of the veterinary care and use of all animals maintained by Clemson University in accordance with applicable regulations and accreditation standards
HIGHEST STANDARDS IN ANIMAL CARE AND USE
The Office of Animal Resources provides oversite for the Godley-Snell Research Center (GSRC), the Aquatic Animal Research Laboratory (AARL), and veterinary care for animals held by Research Farm Services. Please see the respective pages for information pertaining to each of the above.
iLab Solutions
The Division of Research has implemented an online solution for the scheduling and billing of services across our Core Facilities. Partnering with Agilent Technologies, we will use the iLab Operations Software to support core management and achieve a more centralized shared lab and research resource experience. iLab will allow Clemson research Cores to:
- Streamline reporting and increase transparency for equipment usage, budgeting, and forecasting
- Increase compliance and create auditable logs of quote approvals, services delivered, and invoicing
- Shorten billing cycles and increase recharge capture
- Raise awareness of available resources
