Chart Your Future Success in Health Care

Your future in a health profession starts here. With the help of Health Professions Advising, explore the wide array of health care professions to find the right fit for you and develop the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in that field.

Why work in health care?

Many careers in health care offer above-average earnings, opportunities to travel, flexible schedules and more. Perhaps most importantly, the job outlook is strong: Because of an aging population, the health care industry is expanding at a solid pace.

Our health professions advisors provide valuable assistance as students develop their path to a health professions career — from guidance on which major to pursue and courses to take to which activities outside the classroom will enhance their applications for medical school, dental school and other professional schools.

The HPA team advises prospective and current students as well as alumni interested in pursuing careers in the chiropractic medicine, dentistry, medicine, optometry, pharmacy, physical assistant, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology fields.

“My first year at Clemson, I was unsure of what career path I’d follow in the medical field. HPA provided me with an abundance of information on many different careers in the health professions and took careful consideration answering my questions and directing me toward resources. They have been instrumental in my success at Clemson, and have helped me transform into a confident, well-rounded applicant for physician assistant school.”

“I started meeting with the HPA team during my first semester at Clemson. I knew I wanted to become a physician but needed guidance to make that goal a reality. Without their guidance and unwavering support, I can confidently say that I would not be the student and person I am today. I was recently accepted into VCOM Carolinas’ Osteopathic Medical School Early Assurance Program for their class of 2029 as a Rocovich Scholar. ”
