Equine Camp (Rising 9th-12th)

In this course, students will have the chance to explore several aspects of the equine science and management industries. Whether students are looking to become Equine Veterinarians or take part in some other avenue in the equine industry, this session will provide hands-on learning and real-life equine experience. Students will discuss equine nutrition and body condition scoring, learn basic horse handling, grooming and how to assess vitals and overall health, as well as learn horse anatomy. Students will have the opportunity to watch demonstrations of farrier work, dental care, chiropractic work, and ultra-sounding of pregnant mares. And, students will help design and perform an exercise test on fit vs. Unfit horses.  

*Equine camp does not involve mounting and riding horses.
