I'm sorry I'm just now replying, but one project from this semester with Matt Powers was focused on Connie Maxwell (a children's ministry and foster care system) in Greenwood,SC. Each person had a different site, and my project was centered around creating a park for the people of Connie Maxwell and the city of Greenwood. I wanted to create a walking/biking trail that circles around a native wildflower field and meadow. I wanted to create a landscape that reflected the light and color that Connie Maxwell exudes, which is why I titled this project "Community in Color."

This past fall with Hala Nassar our project was focused on revitalizing Dr. MLK Way in Seneca, SC. Again, we each had different sites that we focused on. I created three educational gardens - a children's garden, a pollinator garden, and a historic garden. I titled the project "Seneca's Secret Gardens" because I wanted to create gardens that would give them a sense of place and spaces that would feel special to the community.
