My professor was Hala Nassar. She was in contact with representatives from the city of Seneca and the Blue Ridge Community Center who wanted our help in redesigning a major thoroughfare in the city. Officially E South 6th Street, but soon to be Dr MLK Jr Way, this street connected a struggling neighborhood called Utica with Seneca's more vibrant historic district and downtown. Utica was originally a mill village but the mill closed 20 years ago and the neighborhood has seen high unemployment, crime, and even serious tornado damage.

Our studio task was to design something that would help uplift Utica and increase community growth and vibrancy. I designed a greenway system for the city that focuses on Dr MLK Jr Way and connects Utica with downtown Seneca. Here's a whole bunch of stuff I made for this project.
