Profile
Dr. Ura's research investigates the systems, practices, and institutions that contribute to children's negative school outcomes, particularly school discipline disparities for students of color. Her program of research examines: 1) social processes in the classroom that support or hinder equitable discipline decision-making, and 2) how culturally responsive, trauma-informed approaches and teachers' social-emotional competence can produce positive student outcomes and support equitable practices.
