Food, Packaging & Sustainability
The FRESH initiative is a multi-disciplinary hub for innovation and research to address sustainability across the food value chain. FRESH was established at Clemson University with generous philanthropic support from the Sonoco Foundation. With top academic experts involved in every step of the food value chain, FRESH serves as a catalyst and unifier on campus, working closely with external partners. Clemson is positioned to drive solutions through faculty-sponsored research, student projects and the FRESH annual Food, Packaging and Sustainability Summit.

FRESH is pleased to present the 5th annual Food, Packaging & Sustainability Summit at Clemson University, a comprehensive program that embodies our holistic approach to the sustainability of food and packaging across the entire value chain. Filled with insights from esteemed thought leaders in both industry and academia, the Summit serves as a dynamic platform for exploring collaborative efforts, innovative solutions, and forward-thinking ideas through a variety of presentations and engaging events. The Theme for the 2025 Summit is “Creating Value While Advancing Sustainability”. The program will explore ways to reframe sustainability using a value creation approach.
