Hannah Godwin holds a PhD from the University of Oregon with a certificate in Women’s and Gender Studies. Her interests include children’s and young adult literature and the history of childhood, modernist literature and culture, sexuality studies, gothic studies, and southern studies. She teaches courses on topics ranging from global modernism, animal studies, magical realism, childhood and alienation, and forms of haunting, among others. Her scholarship appears in Swamp Souths: Literary and Cultural Ecologies, part of the Southern Literary Studies Series from Louisiana State University Press, and in Faulkner and History, part of the Faulkner and Yoknapatawpha Series from the University Press of Mississippi. Hannah’s most recent work focuses on the intersection of gothic swamp ecologies and plantation afterlives.
