Bruce has been a faculty member at Clemson since 1994. He is professor of political science, director of graduate programs at Strom Thurmond Institute and chair of the interdisciplinary Ph.D. Program in Policy Studies. He teaches in the Political Science Department and the Policy Studies Program. His research interests include state politics and public policy, political campaigns and elections, city and metropolitan politics and public policy, community economic development policy, legislative redistricting, intergovernmental relations, and African American politics.
