Adam Knight is a dynamic, soulful, and versatile guitarist. He’s also an accomplished composer, writing for jazz, rock, funk, and fusion, in formats such as small combos, guitar ensembles, and big band orchestras. In addition to teaching at Clemson University he is also on the jazz faculty the University of South Carolina. Adam has a Bachelor of Music degree in jazz performance from Georgia State University. He also earned a Master of Music degree in jazz performance from New England Conservatory of Music. Throughout the years, Adam has been a writer and performer in many projects, touring, recording, and opening for artists such as Maceo Parker, Incubus, and Robert Randolph. His music has received major market radio airplay and has been placed on episodes of MTV’s, The Real World and Road Rules. In 2011, he formed Earsight, an original, high-energy funk/jazz project. Earsight released a self-titled album in 2015 which received positive reviews and local radio play. In addition, Adam performs in the Greenville Jazz Collective Big Band, a nonprofit contemporary jazz orchestra based in Greenville, SC. In 2018, the Greenville Jazz Collective released an album which included Adam’s big band composition, City of Roswell. Adam also leads his own jazz trio, performing at festivals, venues, and events around the Southeast.
