Steve Wilson has over 45 years of experience as a professional musician in diverse genres of music from pop/rock, jazz and classical. He is currently Principal/Solo Trombonist with the Greenville Symphony and has recently performed Nino Rota’s Concerto for Trombone and Chris Brubeck’s Concerto for Bass Trombone. Both have been broadcast on SC Public Radio. Steve performs with the Greenville Jazz Collective, and is first call trombonist at the Peace Center in Greenville SC for Broadway shows and concerts. As Lead/Solo trombonist on the Harrah's Lake Tahoe Resort and Casino house band, he performed with entertainers including Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Tony Bennett, Natalie Cole, Donna Summer, George Benson, and many others. He has been a featured artist at the International Trombone Festival, the Midwest Band Clinic, and the Eastern Trombone Workshop. Steve has composed/arranged dozens of tunes for jazz ensemble and recently produced a CD recording of his jazz/pop fusion music titled “The Steve Wilson Septet Live in Asheville”. He has served on the music faculties at Presbyterian College, Brevard College, Anderson University, Furman University, and the University of South Carolina.
