Jeffrey Gilbert is a first-year Ph.D. student in Digital History. He is interested in U.S. foreign relations during the interwar period, particularly with the triangular relationship between the United States, Latin America, and Germany. Jeffrey’s academic research focuses on how U.S. neutrality and Good Neighbor diplomacy affected collective security efforts in the Western Hemisphere. Prior to attending Clemson University, Jeffrey received his M.A. in History and Digital Humanities Graduate Certificate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). While at UNL, Jeffrey was a research assistant for the university in partnership with the Defense Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Accounting Agency, a teaching assistant, and the president of UNL’s History Graduate Students’ Association. Additionally, Jeffrey received his B.A. in History with a minor in Political Science from Saginaw Valley State University, where he was also a social science tutor.
