Clemson Wheelchair Tennis Championships

Clemson Adaptive Sports and Recreation is excited to host the 2024 Clemson Wheelchair Tennis Championships on July 19-21, at the beautiful Hoke Sloan Tennis Center on the campus of Clemson University. Please read below and stay tuned for continuing updates regarding hotels, play format, etc. We look forward to hosting you this summer.

The USTA sanctioned event is open to all levels, including first-time players, in divisions A, B, C, D, Quad Open and Juniors. Clemson Adaptive Sports and Recreation will host all matches on hard courts at the state-of-the-art Hoke Sloan Tennis Center.

Organizer Information

The mission of the Clemson Adaptive Sports and Recreation Lab is to provide evidence that informs decisions about adaptive sport programming and enhances outcomes associated with involvement in those programs.

Our lab members implement high-quality adaptive sport programming and conduct applied research, locally, nationally and internationally, that addresses issues faced by:

  • Adaptive sport and recreation managers
  • Front-line service providers
  • Educators
  • Policy officials
  • Participants

    Divisions: A, B, C, D, Quad Open & Junior

    Cost: $80

    Open to all levels, including first-time players.

  • Meals

    BREAKFAST - Each host hotel will have complimentary breakfast available for tournament players. Please take advantage of this each morning!

    LUNCH - Lunch will be provided to all tournament players on Saturday and Sunday of the tournament. Any junior attending the clinic on Friday will have lunch provided to them. (More specific information on what we will have for lunches each day TBD. Stay tuned!)

    SNACKS & REFRESHMENTS - Snacks and refreshments will be available throughout the tournament weekend across the tournament site. 

    DINNER - Dinner will be provided on Friday & Saturday night. Stay tuned for updates on this!

  • Transportation

    We are planning to work with local community partners to provide shuttle transportation for the following:

    • Arrivals at Greenville-Spartanburg International airport (GSP) to the host hotel
    • Host hotel to tournament venue
    • Tournament venue back to host hotel
    • Host hotels to Greenville-Spartanburg International airport (GSP) for departures
  • Tournament Amenities

    There will be a variety of amenities offered on-site at our tournament venue including:

    • Wheelchair Maintenance (i.e. air pumps, miscellaneous tools, etc.)
    • Snacks and refreshments across the venue
    • Athletic Trainer services each day of the tournament
    • Tournament player bags including tournament t-shirt and other fun giveaways
    • and MORE to be announced soon!
  • Sportsmanship Expectations

    Good sportsmanship is expected. All players, parents, and spectators should complete the following steps in advance of the tournament:

    *This level of sponsorship will help support the cost of referees, their travel, hotel, and per diem.

    *This level of sponsorship will help support the cost of running the juniors clinic.
