Tiger Alliance

Tiger Alliance Trains Future Leaders

About the Program

Founded in 2017, Tiger Alliance emerged as a key initiative during the inaugural Men of Color National Summit at Clemson University. Originally created to close the opportunity gap for Black and Hispanic males, the program now proudly welcomes young women, transforming Tiger Alliance into a coeducational program open to all students in the Upstate of South Carolina. Our mission is to support students from high school through higher education and into their careers.

Under the visionary leadership of Lee Gill, Tiger Alliance initially brought together over 250 high school students of color in grades nine through eleven. These students attended the Summit and became part of a supportive community dedicated to academic success and personal growth.

Inspired by the Black Male Summit and the African American Male Initiative at the University of Akron, Tiger Alliance focuses on more than just career readiness. We immerse our members in the college experience, equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and support necessary to not only enroll in but thrive at institutions of higher learning. Tiger Alliance is committed to fostering a sense of belonging and excellence among all participants, preparing them for successful futures in college and beyond.
