SCEEES Mentorship Program

At SCEEES, we understand that mentorship is a powerful catalyst for both the personal and professional growth of our students. The SCEEES Mentoring Program connects students with experienced industry professionals who serve as role models, offering strategic guidance on career planning, leadership development, industry trends, and workforce readiness.

Through meaningful connections, mentors provide guidance and ensure our graduates are well-prepared for the evolving demands of the engineering and earth sciences fields. This collaborative relationship not only benefits the student mentees but also allows mentors to give back to the Clemson community, with many mentors frequently reporting that these relationships provide fresh perspectives on industry challenges.

Classroom Engagement

Alumni and industry professionals are invited to enhance classroom learning by delivering guest lectures, leading workshops, and sharing case studies that bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application. Through active classroom involvement, you can influence the next generation of engineers and scientists. These interactions allow students to visualize real-world challenges in civil engineering, environmental science, and earth sciences while gaining valuable insights into current industry practices and emerging technologies.

Your professional experiences—including successes and challenges—provide powerful learning moments that textbooks simply cannot offer, helping students develop critical thinking skills and professional judgment essential for their future careers.

Advisory Boards

Advisory boards are vital to shaping the future of our school, bridging the gap between academia and industry. We have a total of six advisory boards between the school and individual departments, based on area of focus. As a member of one of our boards, you will collaborate with faculty to align educational objectives with real-world needs, provide strategic input on curriculum development, and strengthen connections between students and the professional community. Your insights help ensure our programs stay relevant, innovative, and responsive to industry advancements, ultimately enhancing the educational experience and preparing students for successful careers.

Through your participation, you directly contribute to developing the next generation of leaders while staying connected to emerging talent and educational approaches.
