Girl Scouts & Friends

Group of young students in Freeman Hall.

Event Overview

This annual event is a collaboration with the Girls Scouts of South Carolina Mountains to Midlands and the Women in Science and Engineering Program (WISE). Last year's theme, "Science for a Better Tomorrow," inspired young minds to explore the possibilities of STEM. This year, we invite students to take the lead with "STEM Expedition: Engineer Your Own Adventure." Our sessions empower young explorers to embark on their unique STEM journeys and engineer their futures—all at no cost!

“Kids have the power to create their own adventures with STEM. By diving into science, technology, engineering, and math, they can design green buildings, develop fuel-efficient cars, and even contribute to life-saving vaccines. Through STEM Expeditions, young explorers can turn dreams into reality and make the impossible possible. Let’s inspire the next generation to engineer their own adventures and shape a better tomorrow!” — Discover E
