Cybersecurity Research and Resources
Our Research
Clemson University has been an active force in cybersecurity for over a decade and boasts a multidisciplinary look at the subject with over fifteen faculty in eight departments and Clemson Computing and Information Technology (CCIT) contributing to research. Clemson receives funding from various sources including military, government, and the private sector, in addition to engaging in joint research with other institutions. Our prolific research in this field is evident beyond just the sources, as our faculty has hundreds of publications that we can point to across the spectrum of cybersecurity.
And given the increasing presence of technology in almost all aspects of our lives, this broad approach is especially important. The long reach of Clemson’s research can be seen through a list of some of our research areas:
- Usable privacy and Security (Caine and Knijnenburg)
- Online freedom of expression (Brooks and Caine)
- Test-beds for simulated attacks (Wang)
- Smart Grid Penetration Testing (Brooks and Venayagamoorthy)
- Connected Vehicle Security (Pisu, Martin, Brooks, Hu, Wang)
- Cloud Security (Gao)
- Side-Channel Attacks (Brooks)
