ARTISPHERE
The city of Greenville, South Carolina annually hosts ARTISPHERE to celebrate international and multicultural art to attract, entertain, educate, and inspire!
The Clemson Light Imaging Facility participates in the annual ARTISPHERE festival as a member of the STEAM network at Clemson University. The Clemson University STEAM network unites the interdisciplinary creative processes of faculty and students to build educational research opportunities through innovation, enhanced technologies, and inquiry-based environments that fuse arts with science, technology, engineering, and math. The overall goal of the Clemson University STEAM network is to incorporate and promote art and design in traditional STEM activities, encourage the integration of art and design into educational settings, enhance career preparation for students who participate in STEAM activities, and connect students, faculty, and ideas with the global community.
This year the facility hosted a Leica EZ4 Stereoscope and a Leica DM750 biological microscope with live specimens and specimen slides. Participants also had the opportunity to stain their very own cheek cells and view them under the biological microscope!
