Watt Faculty Fellows
In advance of the 2018-2019 academic year, the Watt Family Innovation Center (WFIC) established the Watt Faculty Fellows program, with the purpose of exploring the Watt Center’s unique resources and promoting campus-wide use. The inaugural class of Fellows consisted of 20 faculty members from 18 departments in six colleges. The program required participants to complete an approved project over the course of the Fellowship period. The inaugural cohort of Fellows was presented with two broad options for project areas: 1) Cross-disciplinary, integrated teaching and research activities within the Watt Center, throughout and beyond campus. 2) Evidence-based technology-enhanced learning that improves student learning and collaborations Faculty identified their areas of project interests on their applications.
For the 2019-2020 academic year, the WFIC recruited the second cohort of Watt Faculty Fellows with funding provided by Comporium. Artificial intelligence was the topic at the core of the second year of the Watt Center’s Faculty Fellows program. Twenty Fellows across the University were accepted for the new cohort, representing 18 departments in 6 colleges.
