Building Sustainably

Building public and educational non-residential buildings with wood was the subject of a series of free workshops hosted by Clemson University’s Wood Utilization and Design Institute and its partners in the SC Wood Innovation Team. The workshops were held May 16, 18 and 20 in Greenville, Columbia and Charleston, respectively, and focused on changes to building codes as well as new wood products that can provide solutions to meet building owners and designers needs.

Timber Design Workshop

Clemson SC, May 20 - 22, 2024

Clemson University’s School of Architecture and Wood Utilization + Design Institute are partnering with the Softwood Lumber Board and U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities to host a two-and-a-half-day, hands-on workshop for architecture faculty. Learn about mass timber design and building, and strategies for incorporating this subject matter into your teaching, research and outreach.
