Frequently Asked Questions
-
What information is listed on diplomas?
Your name (as listed on your application for graduation), degree awarded, primary and secondary major, and conferral date are included on the diploma. In addition, if you are an undergraduate and you graduate with Latin honors, then that honors category is included on your diploma. Additional majors, concentrations and minors are only listed on your official transcript.
-
When will I get my diploma?
Diplomas are mailed to degree recipients approximately six to eight weeks after the end of the Fall, Spring and Summer terms.
-
Where is my diploma being sent after I graduate?
Diplomas ship to the address that applicants list on their application for graduation. If you would like your diploma sent to an address different than the one listed on your graduation application, please reach out to Enrolled Student Services at ESStranscripts@clemson.edu as soon as possible.
-
My name changed after I graduated. How can I get a diploma reprinted with my current name?
You can submit a replacement diploma request.
-
Why is the honors category on my diploma and transcript different from what was in the commencement program?
The diploma and transcript will show your official graduation honors, which is based on your cumulative average at the end of your graduation term. More information about honors categories can be found in the University Catalog.
The honors category shown in the commencement program is unofficial and is based on a student’s cumulative average at the end of the term prior to the graduation term; therefore, the honors category in the commencement program may differ from the official graduation honors category that appears on the student’s diploma and transcript once final grades are submitted.
-
I owe money to the university. Will I still get my diploma?
If you have an unresolved financial obligation with the University, your diploma will not be ordered. Once you resolve any financial obligation, you must contact ESStranscripts@clemson.edu so that we can confirm the financial hold has been lifted and submit the order for your diploma.
-
I need a certified or notarized copy of my diploma. What is the process?
Please email Enrolled Student Services at ESStranscripts@clemson.edu.
