Strategic Plan

Clemson University’s Office of Emergency Management is dedicated to fostering a secure and resilient environment that safeguards the well-being of our diverse community; sustaining our educational, research, and service missions in the face of emergencies and disasters; and cultivating a culture of preparedness and proactive response to crises. Our Emergency Management mission is rooted in a commitment to proactive planning, collaborative partnerships, innovation, effective response, and continuous improvement.

The goals outlined below provide the foundation for the Office of Emergency Management to create a culture of preparedness, enhance our strengths through innovation and partnerships, and support the pillars of Clemson Elevate.

Purpose of the Strategic Plan

The purpose of this plan is to align the mission, vision and goals of Clemson University’s Office of Emergency Management with the priorities of Clemson Elevate and to serve as a roadmap for our staff that leads to excellence in service and our core mission areas in support to the Clemson enterprise. The alignment and integration with the goals of the University and the Division of Finance and Operations provide the roadmap to caring for our people, optimizing our systems, enhancing our processes and maximizing our impacts to co-create a safe and resilient community in partnership with students, faculty, staff and community partners.

Mission

The mission of Clemson University's Office of Emergency Management is to foster a secure and resilient Clemson University through all hazards prevention, protection, mitigation, response and recovery.

To be the most disaster resilient university in the nation setting the standard of excellence in emergency management by the end of the decade.
