Seed Fairy

Clemson Extension ‘Seed Fairy’ Growing Seed Libraries Across South Carolina

The Clemson Extension "Seed Fairy” program, in partnership with the Charleston County Public Library System, will begin the pilot phase of a new program designed to support seed libraries statewide. The program aims to expand access to seeds statewide by the end of the year. Look for access to free seed libraries in rural counties and areas considered food deserts across South Carolina just in time to establish a fall garden!

Librarians around the state are offering Clemson Extension led garden-based programming, providing printed fact sheets, and gardening related book titles along with seeds to assist residents in growing more fresh, affordable and nutritious food. The Clemson Extension School & Community Gardening program will continue to seek partnerships and funding to expand this program in the future. We look forward to helping communities grow!

Thanks to a generous donation of seeds from Botanical Interests for making this program possible.
