Meet Our Vice President for Finance and CFO
Rick Petillo serves as the Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Clemson University, playing a pivotal role in the institution’s financial management and strategic direction. Reporting to Tony Wagner, Rick assumes the responsibility of overseeing and providing stewardship for all financial aspects of the University, ensuring the institution’s fiscal well-being and long-term sustainability.
Rick has a bachelor’s degree from Duke University and an MBA from Clemson. He joined Clemson’s Division of Finance and Operations in 2015, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his 15-year career in banking and finance. Rick previously worked for Merrill Lynch, Salomon Smith Barney, Bank of America and First Southwest Company. This diverse background equips him with a unique perspective into the intricacies of financial management, capital financing, and investment strategies.
