Student Assessment of Instructors

Clemson uses Watermark Course Evaluations & Surveys (formerly EvaluationKIT) to allow students to provide faculty with constructive feedback about courses. The guides listed below provide instructions for navigating the system. Emails go out to faculty and students reminding them of the evaluation schedules.

Information for Students

  • Student evaluation responses are anonymous.
  • Students may contact EKAdmin@clemson.edu to reset an evaluation they completed in error if the evaluation term is still open.
  • If the evaluation deadline has passed, students should contact their instructor directly about reopening the survey.

Information for Faculty

  • By mid-term, faculty should verify their courses using the "Manage Courses" widget.
  • Evaluations are encouraged for all courses, except noncredit lab sections (course numbers ending in 1) and master's and doctoral research hours (8910 and 9910). These courses can be added on request.
  • The default schedule closes evaluations before finals week. Faculty can modify these dates as needed (refer to the Changing Survey Times guide).
  • Per the faculty manual, evaluations should be open for the final two weeks of the course to allow students time to complete them.
  • Results are released after the date to submit final grades. Minimester or half-term results may be released upon request.

Information for Teaching Assistants

  • If faculty want an evaluation added for a teaching assistant, please complete the Teaching Assistant Forms form. Email the completed form to EKAdmin@clemson.edu.
  • There is a separate default question set for teaching assistant evaluations. The default TA questions can be found on Resources and Guides.

For additional questions/concerns, please contact EKAdmin@clemson.edu.
