Profile/About Me
Hello, I am Indrani, an Astrophysicist with a strong interest in learning the inner workings of Super Massive Black Hole (SMBH) and the interplay between accretion disk and X-ray corona. My primary area of research is focused on characterizing the X-ray corona in the radio-quiet category of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN), namely Seyfert 1 and Seyfert 2 galaxies. This is accomplished by performing spectral, timing and polarimetric analysis of X-ray data from the Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array (NuSTAR), XMM-Newton, Chandra, Swift-XRT and the X-ray polarization observations from the Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE). I am highly interested on investigating the properties of obscuring materials around the Compton Thick (CT) sources by modelling and analyzing the torus properties of the CT AGN in the nearby universe.
