Consulting Services
In addition to our role leading the execution of Clemson Elevate, one of the Office of Institutional Excellence’s objectives is to assist the University with integrating Institutional Excellence into its regular operations. In this capacity, we act as an internal consulting service whose job is to help our partners operationalize and connect the various aspects of Institutional Excellence. Our goal is to add value to our campus partners by allowing them to become more effective and more efficient at the work they already do.
We offer free consultative services to campus divisions, colleges, and departments to help them incorporate Institutional Excellence into their work. These services allow organizations to avoid the time required to develop their own systems, instead adapting models created by industry-certified experts.
We understand every organization at Clemson is unique, and each is at a different point in its pursuit of Institutional Excellence. For that reason, our solutions are not one-size-fits-all. Instead, we customize our models to each organization to provide a solution that fits your team and your work. We recognize some organizations may request extensive assistance while others require very little.

Service Areas
Strategic/Operational Planning and Execution
Effective strategic planning is essential for high performance in a dynamic and changing environment. Our facilitators in strategic/operational planning and execution can help your group:
- Develop your strategic plan aligned with higher level strategic plans, including Clemson Elevate.
- Establish your operational plans and execution roadmaps and align them with your strategic plan.
- Identify key performance indicators and metrics to measure progress toward strategic goals and Clemson Elevate metrics.
- Create and institute a process for regularly tracking key performance indicators/metrics and progress toward your strategic goals.
- Implement a process for regular strategic and operational plan reviews and updates.
Strategic Project Management
Strategic projects are those projects which are critical in helping you to achieve your strategic goals. We can assist you in reaching those goals by:

Continuous Improvement
While strategic projects often represent new initiatives within your organization, continuous improvement efforts focus on optimizing the systems and processes you already have. - Implement a system for regularly identifying, prioritizing and acting on opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Train individuals and teams to execute projects related to continuous improvement.
- Track and report metrics to continuous improvement, allowing you to quantifiably measure your improvement efforts.
Enterprise Risk Management
Strategic and operational risks can jeopardize your organization's ability to achieve its strategic goals. We can help you avoid that situation by helping you to:
- Create and maintain a risk-aware culture that allows for identification, assessment and management of risks.
- Track and manage risks in an Operational Risk Register using industry best practices.
