Bachelor of Science in Financial Management
The Department of Finance offers a Bachelor of Science in financial management to more than 1,000 students each year. We also offer a minor in finance to approximately 300 students.
Finance deals with the planning and management of monetary resources in relation to current or future goals and objectives. Students learn how to measure, forecast, and control the financial activities of the organization. The financial management degree provides students with finance and business expertise and contributes to their proficiency in analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.

Employment and Graduate School Opportunities
Our students are highly recruited within the Southeast region. Our national reputation continues to grow, with many students finding jobs in other regions. Recent employers have included Bank of America, Fluor, Milliken, Northwestern Finance, TD Bank, Truist, Vanguard and Wells Fargo, among many others. Many students also go on to graduate programs in business, medicine or law.
Declaring a Financial Management Major
To enter the bachelor's degree program, students must complete the 30 credit hours outlined in the first-year student pre-business curriculum with a cumulative GPR of 2.0 or better. Students follow the curriculum catalog requirements effective for the year they enter the financial management major.
