The "Management Experience"
It is all about the Clemson University and management experience!
Experience is living an event through personal involvement to gain knowledge. Don't come to the management department and expect to sit on the sidelines.
Traditions born of history and a military heritage all make the Clemson University experience distinct! The strategic plan, Clemson Elevate, is built on the priorities of delivering the number one student experience in the nation, doubling research expenditures by 2035 and transforming lives statewide and beyond through educational, economic, agricultural and health outreach. These three priorities support what it means to be a Clemson Tiger through our students, faculty and staff.

Ph.D. Program
The Ph.D. program in Business Administration is designed to provide advanced Management education for students of outstanding ability who desire to pursue careers in academic research-oriented institutions. The program is full-time, with students expected to remain on campus for the immersive experience of their doctoral studies. The program offers five concentrations for specialization: Entrepreneurship, Information Systems, Organizational Behavior/Human Resources, Strategic Management, and Supply Chain/Operations Management. Across these concentrations, the Ph.D. in Business Administration includes a rigorous research methodology component and an intellectually stimulating and challenging concentration-specific foundation, including advanced methods and subject-related seminars. Notably, Ph.D. students have important opportunities for cross-disciplinary work across the concentration areas, and the small size of the program allows for more personal interaction with the high-quality faculty. The program requires a successful comprehensive examination, completing the doctoral dissertation, and either an accepted paper at a professional or scientific society or an article accepted for publication in a refereed journal. Students are admitted with an assistantship, and all students gain experience teaching during the program, which can be completed in four years.
Executive Leadership Ph.D. Program
The Management Department also offers an exciting program targeted toward business executives with a demonstrated track record of leadership success. Our Executive Leadership Ph.D. program offers a deep dive into an array of leadership-focused areas (e.g., strategy, organizational behavior, entrepreneurship) to provide these students with the necessary research skills to systematically solve real-world issues as industry leaders or as academics. Students work closely with faculty through full-time, virtual classes and nine face-to-face residencies per year for three years to pursue topics about which they are passionate. Students will explore these topics by developing, testing, defending, and publishing their own research models during their time in the program.
